Minimalist Cognitive Distortions Posters

Part of a series of minimalist poster designs I created focused on the subject of mental health, in particular cognitive distortions. This was an exercise of trying to convey complex ideas within a minimalist framework. Created in Adobe Illustrator.

(P.S) These posters are a practice of design, whilst I did research into the inspirational material (and using my personal experiences), I am by no means an expert in mental health and these posters should not be taken literally.
I used a heavy contrast colour palette for primary elements to fortify the idea of drastic thinking, in that most of these distorted thinking patterns are typically quite drastic and black and white in nature. The overwhelming black background colour representing the oppressive nature of these styles of thinking.

For the in between colours which I used for elements of the pattern like design, I went for colours to help sell either motion, obscurity, scale and association.
